Life in the woods: Illustrated Cabins Collection

Cruschiform is a French graphic design & creative studio based in Paris, which among some of its many projects, made an amazing book in collaboration with Philip Jodidio and Taschen editor. Simply called “CABINS“, this book combines insightful text, rich photography creative plans and pictograms of a beautiful bright collection of sixty cabins illustrated by Marie-Laure Cruschi.

“Cabins is full of stunning photography and informative text that makes it ideal for tossing on your coffee table. Also included are illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi that help you delve deeper into the design behind both rustic cabins and more contemporary ones. Pick it up, get inspired, and prepare to want your own.”

According to the publisher, “The cabins selected for this publication emphasize the variety of the genre, both in terms of usage and geography. From an artist studio on the Suffolk coast in England to eco-home huts in the Western Ghats region of India, this survey is as exciting in its international reach as it is in its array of briefs, clients, and situations.”

A must have if you’re desperately seeking a less destructive model of being in the world, and if you’re looking forward to returning some day to nature…
