Tree house hotel in Italy: La Piantata Suite Bleue Treehouse
A charming 18th-century Italian farm wedged between Rome and Tuscany, La Piantata is a paradise for lovers of nature, tranquility, and healthy eating. The property offers boutique style accommodation in various types of units, from tasteful rooms with nature-inspired themes and traditionally decorated apartments with private kitchenettes to a spectacular tree house hotel built in centuries-old pines and oaks.
Elevated 7-8 meters off the ground and overlooking endless, sunkissed fields of lavender and olive groves, The Black Cabin Treehouse and the Suite Bleue Treehouse make for wonderful lodging experiences.
A stone’s throw from the olive grove, Renzo Stucchi has fulfilled his childhood dream: The Suite Bleue Tree house hotel towers at eight metres off the ground, amongst 12 hectares of lavender hills, in the dense foliage of a century-old majestic oak.
The Suite Bleue Treehouse is one of two tree houses at La Piantata Bed & Breakfast in Italy’s northern Lazio region. The simple 44 square meters red-cedar building with rustic chic interiors, was constructed in France by the Provence-based specialty firm La Cabane Perchée and transported to a sprawling field of lavender on the resort’s estate. The double bedroom over-looks a terrace surrounded by leafy fronds and a spacious bathroom, in complete harmony with nature, and breakfast is served straight to the bedroom via a pulley mechanism.
Guests staying at this tree house hotel can explore the property’s olive grove, pick fruits and vegetables from the garden, and enjoy homemade lavender honey, jam, balsamic vinegar, and lavender craft beer.
The night at the Suite Bleue Tree house hotel has surprisingly the same pricetag as the Black Cabin Treehouse (390€/night for two), while the later seems more luxurious. But then again, it depends on what guests are looking for (a more rustic chic interiors, or a state-of-the-art technology features and exquisite décor).
