Treehouse Hotel in France: Chateaux dans les Arbres

Modeled on Dordogne's castles, these four fanciful luxury treehouse masterpieces were born out of a desire to create sumptuous, magical spaces whilst still preserving the environment.

Hidden in the lush green Perigord region of France, about 100 miles from Bordeaux, lies the majestic Chateaux dans les Arbres. Modeled on Dordogne’s castles, these four fanciful luxury treehouse masterpieces were born out of a desire to create sumptuous, magical spaces whilst still preserving the environment.

No two tree “castles” are alike: each is individually designed, featuring unique characteristics such as overflow spa with chromotherapy and Finnish sauna, Asian-inspired interiors, decorative ironwork or spacious terraces overlooking the magical surroundings.

Enjoying remarkable tranquility, surrounded by forestland and every creature comfort imaginable (including a chef, outdoor Jacuzzis and access to a swimming pool), each fantastical treehouse naturally boasts sensational views of the French countryside. True rural idylls.

Cabane Monbazillac (bed and breakfast for 2 persons): Overlooking the park, the Cabane Monbazillac merges with the landscape on the edge of the forest. Its turrets tower amongst the chestnut and oak trees, and guests can luxuriate outdoors in the jacuzzi on the terrace with a fantastic view. Price: from 225 € per night (breakfast included).

Cabane Hautefort (self catering accommodation for 2-6 persons): The Cabane Hautefort occupies a hundred-year old oak beside the moat. This house built in the treetops can accommodate up to 6 guests. A wooden footbridge lead guests to a spacious interior courtyard. This is the largest tree house of the domain. Price : from 235 € per night.

Cabane Milandes (bed and breakfast for 2-4 persons): Nested in an oak grove and modeled after a traditional French castle, The Cabane Milandes treehouse provides a family-sized accommodation perched on high grounds. Its wide terrace puts visitors in the very heart of nature. Price : from 235 € per night.

Cabane Spa Sauna De Puybeton (bed and breakfast with hot tub and sauna for two persons): While all four treehouses at Châteaux dans les Arbres are the height of luxury, the Puybéton Treehouse Spa is yet another step up. Designed for complete relaxation, this treehouse is lifted up to a completely private space among the chestnut and oak trees. Features include a terrace overlooking the Dordogne countryside, a fireplace located in the indoor living room, and  a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower located in the main tower. Guests can also access the  infinity pool located at ground level and 26 acres of grounds to explore. Price: from 265€ per night (breakfast included).

Rémi, the owner of Chateaux dans les Arbres, is a true master: he has poured into Châteaux dans les Arbres all his skill, passion and eight years of experience building treehouses over the length and breadth of France. The four treehouses of Châteaux dans les Arbres are designed to echo the architecture of the traditional French castles. They’ve been a year in the making at the headquarters of Nid Perché, Rémi’s company down the road, and are born from a desire to create unusual and luxurious spaces to stay, all while preserving the environment. With the rolling French countryside of the Dordogne surrounding the domain, gourmet treats, panoramic views, and the rustle of the wind in the trees – guests are in for a unique, and amazing, stay.
