Treehouse Hotel in Sweden: The 7th Room

In the wilderness of the tall pine forests of Northern Sweden, where the awe-inspiring tree trunks stretch up seemingly to the skies, sits the newest addition to the renowned Treehotel opened in January 2017. Standing a full 10 meters above the ground, yet nestled within the canopy of the surrounding trees, the 7th Room is perfectly designed to provide guests with panoramic views of the treetops and the river beyond. A stay in this treehouse really feels as though you are part of the forest, as boundaries between indoors and out are a little blurred by the clever architecture here.

The 7th Room treehouse spreads over 100 square meters, with 75 of those square meters as livable space. The house is ergonomically settled within the trees, though there is plenty of additional structural support to minimize the stress of weight-bearing on the trees and protect them as much as possible. It has been constructed as a traditional Nordic cabin, and the design and furnishing of the interior carry this theme through. The main aim of the space is to bring people closer to nature and no guest here can doubt that they feel truly part of the forest when settled in this amazing house.

The living room of the 7th Room treehouse has a north-facing floor to ceiling window, which gives the optimum chance of seeing the Northern Lights when the weather is clear. And this is not where the treats end. A netted terrace joins the two bedrooms, which really allows the trees to become part of the house. If you fancy a night under the stars, a sleeping bag in this area is all you need! However, even if you stay indoors there are ample skylights allowing guests to enjoy the night sky.

The rates for a stay in the 7th Room treehouse vary according to the season and start at around €1000 per night. The price includes a buffet breakfast, and children under 2 years old are free of charge.
