Treehouse in Norway: Treetop Fiddan
Overlooking lake Svartevann in Norvège are the two incredible rustic treehouses of the Treetop Fiddan resort. These large and spacious structures yet sit in between the trees unobtrusively and look as though they have always been a part of the landscape. Named the Wilderness Tower and the Island Cabin, both treehouses give guests the feeling of isolation from the rest of the world and a glorious view of the natural surroundings.
The Wilderness Tower at Treetop Fiddan treehouses gives guests 20 square meters of living space over multiple levels. The top levels afford gorgeous views of the lake and it feels as though you are floating above the trees themselves. The interior of the treehouse will bring guests back to the basics. All the furnishings inside are made of wood from the surrounding forest and technology has no place in this cabin. The only light comes from candles and the log fire. Water comes from a tank on the roof that collects the rain.
Treetop Fiddan certainly makes the most of its special location in the forest and constructed the Island Cabin in the middle of the lake. It sits between three lovely pine trees and is accessed by a long wooden boardwalk stretching across the water. In this treehouse, there is a 12v electricity supply coming from solar panels, though mod cons here are still kept to a minimum. An outhouse sits at ground level and gives a fantastic view through the windows while guests are seated here!
One of the outstanding features of Treetop Fiddan is the chance to see some of the native wildlife of the area. The cabins sit so comfortably among the trees, that as long as guests are quiet it is highly likely that some of the fauna will come and visit. A beaver family lives in the lake, and moose, elk, and deer roam the forest.
Rates for a stay at Treetop Fiddan start at €250 per night, though special rates are often available for longer stays.
