Treehouse in Thailand: Khao Sok Treehouse Resort

The owners of the Khao Sok Treehouse Resort have always been inspired by nature. The main motivation for them to move to the area and create their business here was a desire to be more immersed in the jungle and to live more rurally. They also wanted to share their passion with others, which is one of the reasons they embarked on a tourism business. As well as sharing their love of the forest and its wildlife with guests, they are also able to share with others the importance of conservation and maintaining the few jungles that remain. There is really no better way to appreciate all that the rainforest has to offer than by living in and among the canopy itself.

When the Khao Sok Treehouse Resort opened, there were 8 treehouses to choose from. Slowly over time, the owners built additional houses on-site, taking their time and adding maybe one or two each year. Each one was carefully thought through and designed so that no two treehouses here are exactly alike. As of 2020, 19 treehouses are available here, the highest of which stands an impressive 50 feet up off the ground!

Treehouses were the accommodation of choice at the Khao Sok Treehouse Resort as the owners were taught from a young age that it is best to live elevated from the ground in the jungle to avoid most of the creatures that share the forest habitat. However, this does not mean that the occasional mosquito or other rainforest dwellers will not find their way into the treehouses here, though this simply adds to the authentic jungle experience! Guests are encouraged to embrace the wildlife, and indeed the chance to see Thai wildlife is one of the main reasons to come to this resort and the neighboring national park.

Khao Sok Treehouse Resort has a swimming pool on-site, perfect for a refreshing dip after a day spent hiking in the national park. All treehouses have Western-style toilets and balconies from which guests can observe the forest and all the life within. Rates start at €40 for a night here.
