Treehouse in the UK: Netherby Treehouse

The world drops away as you leave the road for the gravel track and wind up through the greenery of the Netherby Estate, where the Netherby Treehouse is tucked away. This grand yet homely structure commands incredible views across the river to the Scottish Border from its secluded and private location. Guests here will feel like they are the only inhabitants of the land for miles around, so will have little trouble unwinding, sitting back, and enjoying the green surroundings.

The owners of the Netherby Treehouse make sure their guests feel special from the get-go, as a welcome pack of goodies of local, seasonal produce is in the house to greet new arrivals. From the treehouse is an elevated walkway connecting the house to a wonderful old oak and this is a perfect spot indeed to soak up the fresh air of the northern countryside. Ancient oaks dot the landscape and the Border Est river can be heard babbling through the landscape nearby. Sheep live on the parkland of the Netherby estate and other farm animals and wildlife can be spotted in the miles of countryside seen from the treehouse.

Everything about the interior of the Netherby Treehouse suggests coziness and home comforts. A wood-burner and snug corner seating make the downstairs area the perfect place to rest, while the modern kitchen provides all the utilities that a family will need. A ladder leads up to a mezzanine with two single beds, perfect for adventurous kids. For the adults, a hot tub stands in the garden, which is ideal for a soak after exploring the many woodland trails. Of course, it is also fantastic to enjoy a soak after a day of relaxing in the treehouse, taking in the views!

The Netherby Treehouse usually requires a minimum two-night stay, though it is worth contacting the owners with any queries. Rates start at €220 per night and are variable throughout the year.
