Treehouse in the UK: Treehouses at Pickwell Manor
Pickwell Manor is a Grade-II listed mansion in the countryside of Devon in the UK. And the treehouses at Pickwell Manor are set in the grounds of this impressive estate, with views stretching all the way to the sea.
On arrival, it is not entirely clear where the treehouses might be located, and guests will have to venture into the woods on this 10-acre piece of land to explore and discover their accommodation. The mansion was built in the 10th century, and the treehouses have been designed in such a way as to provide guests with a touch of modernity while blending into the forest. They are stunning cabins, both outside and in.
Wandering through the woodland to get to the treehouses at Pickwell Manor, guests’ gazes will be drawn up into the wonderful canopy. On closer look, winding wooden stairways will be revealed, that lead up to the cabins in the treetops. The stairways and the treehouses have been handcrafted from local timers, and both the architecture and the building methods are eco-friendly. There are not many right-angles to be seen through the retreat and this soft finish somehow adds to the relaxed feeling that permeates through the treehouses.
Inside, the treehouses at Pickwell Manor ooze with romance and whimsy. Each has an open-plan living area with lovely, snug wood burners. Kitchens are modern and equipped with all mod-cons to enable guests to enjoy their stay in comfort. Solar panels provide electricity for the cabins, and natural spring water is plumbed in. Look out for the imaginative tree stump tables and the soft earthy tones, along with the rustic, hand-carved stone and bare natural oak.
Rates for a night at the treehouses at Pickwell Manor start from €280. A minimum stay of two nights is always required, though this does increase according to season and holiday times. Some facilities at Pickwell Manor are included in your stay, such as the tennis courts, gardens, and wild nature trails.
