Treehouse in the USA: The Emerald Forest Treehouse

Located just ten minutes east of downtown Redmond and nestled amongst thirty tranquil acres of beautiful forest, the cozy yet luxurious Emerald Forest Treehouse is comfortably furnished and bursting with natural light

In 2017, Pete Nelson and his team visited the enchanting Emerald Forest in Washington and constructed the Emerald Forest Treehouse. It was featured on an episode of Treehouse Masters and the stand-out highlight of this project is the stunning location including the Emerald Forest & Theater also located on the 30-acre parcel. More on that below!

The Emerald Forest Treehouse is a 5-star rated experience. It consists of an open-space room surrounded by large windows with views of a large beaver pond off the deck. Inside the treehouse is a queen-size bed and twin beds tucked up in the loft and accessed by a ship’s ladder. This creates an additional sense of adventure for kids staying in the treehouse. The treehouse is furnished with everything you will need for a wonderful stay. In the morning, a complimentary continental breakfast will be delivered to the treehouse via a 150-foot zip line from the main house!

An additional feature of the Emerald Forest Treehouse is a crow’s nest. This has been constructed 40’ off the ground and gives stunning views of the forest, pond, and inhabiting wildlife. Guests will be up inside the canopy and may get a privileged view of the blue heron, ducks, frogs, beavers, and other wildlife.

In addition to the treehouse on the ‘house side’ of the pond, the property is also home to The Emerald Forest and the Emerald Forest Theater on the other side of the pond. The Emerald Forest Theater, a one-of-a-kind outdoor climb-in movie theater also built as part of a second Treehouse Masters episode. It is made up of a large seating area 15′ off the ground, four box seat open-air pods, three “tree-elevators” (elevating loungers), two stories of hammock-like dream-nets that can hold eight people each, and movie projection onto a 16′ screen hanging in the trees.

In addition to the Theater structure, the Emerald Forest itself is one of the most naturally beautiful 5-acre suburban forests in the world. Normally, one would expect to be trudging through heavy brush or climbing over fallen trees when enjoying a forest walk. In the Emerald Forest, the entire forest floor is covered with green, springy moss. It, along with the dense second-growth forest, create the perfect backdrop for such an awesome ‘theater in the trees’ experience. Guests of the treehouse are welcome to walk to and explore the Forest and Theater (assuming it is not booked for other gatherings).

Rates for a night in the Emerald Forest Treehouse start at $425 (~€440) and the treehouse is suitable for couples and families of up to four people.
