The owners do emphasize that with the forest come the animals that live there, and though they carefully maintain all aspects of the house, guests must expect to share the house with a few insects and spiders. It is, after all, not a sterile environment and it would be a shame to attempt to create one in such a beautiful, natural space.

To get to the treehouse at Kilauea Volcano, guests must traverse a path, climb some boulders, then ascend a wooden ladder (do not worry, no specialized equipment is needed!) The interior is gorgeous. Everything is original, rustic, and wonderfully designed. The whole house speaks to relaxation and tranquility, with comfy seats throughout, carefully crafted nooks and corners where guests can tuck away, and an expansive outdoor verandah where guests will be completely immersed in the surrounding forest.
